I'll be bringing snacks this week. I don't know what yet, so - stay tuned!

I will be bringing a variety of snacks to class which represent a broad range of types of foods. At the beginning of the break, I will also give everyone a handout with some brief instructions that are to be completed by the end of the break period.
Seemed to be enough variety to serve what most of the class wanted. 7 of 8 people returned brief snack checklist handed out, in which I asked others to indicate why they did not take certain snacks. See results.
Some items had no leftovers (possibly underestimated?), and some had many leftovers (inappropriate choice or some undesirable quality?). For some people answering the checklist, instructions were either not understood perfectly or not followed carefully, so reconsider how to explain instructions, make it more mistake-proof.

Nacho's and homemade Salsa, Cheese and Crackers cheezeits, hard candy, and rasins. My approach is to do something somewhat healthy and those who want a little bit of sweets, they also have that as an option. I will set up the snacks on the side table yet still have it be connected to the main table so students have assess to it at all times. I enjoy getting up and moving around during class. Moving around in the middle of class clears my head so that I can concentrate for the remaining of the class.
I packaged the remaining of the left over's and saved it for the next day since I had snacked day in philosophy the very next day.
My classmates were very impressed with my salsa which made me real good. It seemed like this break went a little longer than usual yet during our snack time we were also able to work on classwork. I really enoyed that transition.

Assortment of drinks, Nacho's & Salsa, Chocolate, apples & oranges, crackers; my approach was to provide everyone with a variety of snacks and not to bring something that I only would enjoy. Setup: used one section of the classroom table as opposed to the center of the table. This allowed the class to move about and discuss the class lesson and other things.
I cleaned and wrapped up left over's...asked if anyone would like to take them home.
I was a bit surprised when asked by PT how I would like to precede with snack...I just figured I would arrange snack like we have in prior occasions. I thought it went very well, just need to focus on the amount of time of the scheduled break.

Water & juice laid out on center of table; Left over nibblies, tangerines & TT's oranges placed at doorway during break
CM helped clean up.
A fold out card table? Cups to put nibblies in to take back to center table. (PT to have a proper bite to eat so not tempted to snack during class or break.) How to get people out of seats, moving & talking during break if not to go to snacks?
