It is reasonable to say that a post graduation community is of benefit to all those involved. Therefore the establishment of a post graduation community should be encouraged. Also, we know quite well that leadership is often needed to get people together, to plan and organize collectively and to implement effectively. So, leadership of some sort should be utilized in the formation of a post graduation community.

Questions:

Yet we do not know what people generally think of these and how they feel about specific issues such as whether they do think a post graduation community is important or whether they like to have someone taking the initiative to get the postgraduates of a program together. So, even if they think that a post graduation community is important, they may not necessarily be inclined to join it. And if they do feel that leadership plays a role, they may feel edgy about being part of the leadership itself. So, not everyone may feel the same way about a post graduation community. So, we need to find out and in order to do that, a survey can be conducted. I have prepared a questionnaire with a number of questions that are more or less quite direct. These questions were designed in such a way that they address my queries and they are expected to give useful clues to a number of key issues that are unclear. They are:
1) What do people with different plans and stages of academic and professional development think about a alumni contact and a post graduation community?
2) How would leadership initiative help?
3) How would school or program administration help?
4) How would incentives play a part?
5) In light of the responses, what should be done to promote a post graduation community especially in CCT

Method to find out answer to question = Questionnaire interpretation of results

Many graduate programs may also lack a post graduation community and I felt that it would be helpful to investigate the opinions of even graduate students from other graduate programs as well as other schools and universities. My survey is thus not exclusive to CCT students. Because I wanted to have a significant sample pool of participants in my survey, I have made it a point to get fifty students to answer my questionnaire. Seven of the responses came from our own CCT 693 class. About 15 of the participants are CCT students. About 18 of them came from other graduate students at UMB. The rest of them came from graduate students of other universities.
