CCT Deep Exploration: Digging Deeper into Building Support for Our Work, Learning and Lives

Monday, April 2, 2012
6:45-9pm
Campus Center, 2nd Floor, Room 2545
Open to all. Refreshments will be served.

Join members of the Critical and Creative Thinking community as we hear about Felicia Sullivan's experiences with a clearness committee and Peter Taylor's proposal for support circles and share other forms of engaged support. Participate in a supportive listening exercise and dialogue with others about past success and challenges getting the support you need. We'll consider questions such as the following:

How do we ensure that we have the kind of support we need to accomplish our goals?
What can we do to get the kind of support and feedback that is most effective for us?
How do people work to support others to do the best work they can given the circumstances?
When should support involve chipping in and helping a person with their load and when is it enough (or even better) to set up a space (a container) in which you appreciatively help the other person reflect and clarify their own path ahead?
What guidelines in support groups or relationships have helped us?
What challenges and innovations have arisen in Internet-mediated support?

Skype participation from a distance possible if you RSVP by Friday, March 30th to cctcoordinator@umb.edu .
Parking passes will be available for alums and visitors who RSVP.
