Wikis are not used by students as planned to expose the process of their thinking and facilitate exchange and inquiry. (They are used more readily to report on the outcomes of inquiry.)

Action

Do not give up -- Reflect, gather ideas from students, and make revisions.

Question

Is the source of the problem the discipline of the KAQ format OR the unfamiliarity with using a wiki OR the need to thrash out ideas verbally before committing any of them to public view OR...?

A little of all of these, plus the fact that the default way a wiki works does not foster dialog, per se. But it could well be modified to address this mode of interaction. (mjp)
