Some Possible Principles of Design to be Considered When "Designing for Life"
- Be curious; take the time to follow your questions into deep areas.
- Know your priorities; make choices based on your priorities rather than your momentary impulses.
- Iterate often: try things many times and refine your approach each time; make small, incremental changes.
- Be interdependent.
- Try out new things and take unfamiliar directions. Experiment (and/or create prototypes).
- Reframe problems - try to find new ways to describe problems; change the words or point of view.
- Make time for joy and play.
- When you think you have nothing or don't know what to do, do something. Take a small but deliberate action.
- Be kind to yourself in the face of mistakes, defeat, failure. Appreciate your progress.
- Focus on process more, focus on content less.
- Ask for help; seek feedback; get clarity through the perspective of others.
- ...others that you think of...
