Upcoming Collaborative Exploration (CE):
The next in the fall 2013 series of free, online
Collaboration Explorations (CE) begins the first week of December and will explore the theme
Manifestos for Creative Thinking and Problem-Solving (full description here). Online meetings will take place on Mondays, December 2, 9, 16, and 23 (time to be determined). You may wish to read these additional essays about the approach of Collaborative Explorations and an example of a manifesto for critical thinking.
Please register (http://bit.ly/CEApply) to confirm your interest and get access to the Google+ community. All who can commit to attending at least 3 of the 4 online meetings are welcome to register.

Teaching Opportunity for UMass Boston Graduate Students:
Become an OLLI Scholar and Teach a Non-Credit Course with Stipend
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) is a lifelong learning program for adults 50 and older at UMass Boston. It is part of the Gerontology Institute at the McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies. OLLI has over 1,000 retired and semi-retired members who are enthusiastic and motivated learners. OLLI UMass Boston seeks graduate students to teach a 5-6 week non-credit course in their area of study or a related area (1.5 hours per week). This program provides an opportunity for graduate students to develop professionally by gaining teaching experience with a friendly audience.
OLLI offers courses in several areas in the arts, sciences, humanities, wellness, politics, technology, and many others.

http://www.olli.umb.edu – first select “Courses” from the left sidebar and then select “Teach for OLLI”) Applications will be reviewed by the OLLI curriculum committee. If a student’s proposal is approved, he/she will be invited for an interview. No more than 10 students will be selected per academic year. Classes start in early March through mid-June. The application deadline for the Spring 2014 semester is November 26, 2013.

Call for Proposals: "Undoing Health: States of Body and Mind"
We are issuing a Call for Proposals for scholarly and creative submissions for an international, interdisciplinary Graduate Student Conference, entitled “Undoing Health: States of Body and Mind” to be held at Indiana University – Bloomington, March 27-29, 2014. Join us for our 12th annual conference, hosted by the graduate students of the IU Department of English. We are pleased to host Dr. Rachel Adams (Columbia University) as our keynote speaker this year.
